MasterCool Air Conditioning Ltd was appointed as the main contractor for the Heating & Cooling upgrade of the 24-hour Control Centre for the Docklands Light Railway Network.
The contract involved removing a redundant Chilled Water System and Installation of New Daikin VRV Systems with ceiling cassette units within the main Control Room, incorporating self-cleaning mechanisms for ease and minimal disruption for proactive maintenance.
The project also involved Installing 2 x Vertiv Downflow CRAC Systems for the Equipment IT Rooms, upgrading the Chilled Water Circuits, extending the Ventilation network, Installation of a New Electrical MCCB Panel Board, requiring a power-down of the whole building and carried out a total overhaul and upgrade of the Building Management System.
The project was completed on time and to much satisfaction and praise from the client, maintainer, and control room staff for delivering a much-needed upgrade to a safety-critical area for Transport for London.
